We have all read some bad cliché advice from advice columns. There are some pieces of advice out there that are so absolutely awful. So, women of Waplog wanted to explain which advice to absolutely ignore and why.
1. Wait at least 3 days before you call
The times have changed, so why should you wait x amounts of days if you both hit it off. Yes, you may think if you text right away you might look needy. But we are not telling you to text immediately while still driving away from the date. If you really like someone, you should text them and not wait for some time period to pass.
2. Compliments make you look needy or sexist
Everyone loves compliments, and they will not look needy or sexist unless you compose your sentences in that way. Try not to compliment a girl's appearance they probably get compliments on their looks all the time. Instead try to compliment them on their sense of style, eyes, ideas, etc. Just make sure your compliments are sincere. Also, attractive girls do love compliments as well if they put in an effort, they would appreciate the acknowledgment.
3. Treat them mean
Do not treat anyone mean because if you like them, that is the most counteractive thing you can do to get their attention. Yes, bad boys do have an appeal but the appeal is; they are bad boys outside, cute and loving inside. This thought has been twisted and turned until it became unrecognizable. Just for the best results treat everyone with respect and care.
4. Being stylish is unmanly
Good-looking men who know how to dress are perfection, so thinking stylish men are unmanly makes no sense. Women love men who have a style more than men who show up with sweatpants and a hoodie. Women have different preferences, so just be you and show your own style.
5. Play hard to get
There is no need to play games, and that is true for both parties. Stop playing mind games no one likes that. If you are into someone tell them straight up, no need to lose precious time over it. If they are into you, you guys can start things off; if not, well at least now you know and you can move on.
6. Be persistent and they will like you
If she didn't like first, your persisting will only get you the creep status and maybe even a restraining order. If she is trying to play the 'hard to get game, you will be able to tell there is something between you. Even then you should not be too persistent.
7. Nice guys finish last
Oh no! okay, let's get this straight for those of you who claim nice guys finish last. Your niceness is probably stemming from trying to get into her pants, and she can see right through you and wants nothing to do with you. Being a fake nice guy is very obvious for women. You may lie to yourself, but you can't lie to women. So stop complaining and be nice for real this time. Once you start being nice for real, you will see the difference. Also, no one owes you anything because you are nice. That is only a selfish way of thinking.
8. Don't pay the bill/ Pay the bill
There are different pieces of advice all over the Internet, but the problem is that it depends on your partner and the situation. Expectations are very important, what you and your partner are expecting from this date and who think should pay. Playing the niceness game in the middle of a restaurant, arguing over who will pay puts the waiter/ waitress in a very awkward situation. The best way to deal with this is to offer to pay once, and if they insist on paying- go dutch.
9. Just be yourself
We have no arguments against this advice it is absolutely accurate. However, there is a catch if you are being an absolute jackass, then you need to stop being yourself. Everyone has one of those days, where they feel off. So if it is one of those days, stop acting mean and be nice.
10. When it is right, it will be easy
Relationships are never that easy, and you will always encounter problems no matter how right they are for you. So do not run away from your relationship just because you hit that point of disagreement.
